Dreamy.....

A lazy Sunday....... Still snowed/Iced in today here in Sophia.  Spent the day mostly Pinteresting and Facebooking and dreaming of pretties for the bathroom.  Found a few more pics with ideas I like. The hubs had me to order some Himalayan salt for him today so while I was ordering I purchased a white ruffled shower curtain and curtain rings off of Amazon.com.  I listed them on the Purchases page. You have to start somewhere, right?

Would love to have something similar to this glass door
cabinet for storage.

I really like this chippy hardware for the vanity

I like the ruffled shower curtain (similar to the style I ordered) and I love
the little cabinet sitting on the vanity with small things
displayed in it.  I would definitely add a throw rug  to warm up the space.

I have a thing for wooden boxes.  I love to use old
drawers in this way.  Would be neat to have one long
and narrow to use on the back of the toilet for some pretties.

Love this rug from World Market.  It also comes in
an oval shape and larger.  $12.99 and $14.99

I'm in love with French soaps and more little
wooden handled brushes

Pretty display of ironstone and more french soaps

Farmhouse 5540

One of my favorite blogs is Farmhouse5540.  The before and after pics of their house blow my mind.  She's done an amazing job creating the farmhouse look that I soooooo love.  Her entire house is mostly decorated with white but it's so fresh and clean looking.  I just love it.  These are a few pics from her powder room.  Love!!!

Her vanity is a $40 Goodwill find.  The antique mirror she found in a little antique shop.

Love her choice of vintage style lighting from Lowes and Home Depot

Love this faucet

Love the hardware.  I believe I can get this at Hobby Lobby

The perfect display for white ironstone pitchers
and the wooden handle vintage brushes I'm collecting!

Simple but pretty!

I'll be needing some of this Farmhouse soap from Sweet Grass Farm
and I have a wooden brush just like that!

This pic is from Miss Mustard Seed's bathroom makeover.  Love the soap and brush displays.

Still planning.......

OK so a year ago in January 2015 I was thinking of doing a small bathroom remodel.  Well, it's January 2016 and I'm still thinking about it.  I hope to make these thoughts and plans come true in the next couple of months.  I need to get serious about my ideas and plans.  Here are some recent Pinterest pins that I love as ideas for the bathroom.

The key to a neat small bathroom = organization.  I love the corner stacked shelf.  I also like the idea of a lazy susan under the sink.

Love these wrought iron cabinet pulls for hand towel hanging.  Something a little different, out of the norm, is always nice.

Love, love, love this vintage looking cabinet for white towels.

I really like the idea of turning a vintage dresser into a vanity.

Open shelving is nice.  I don't have much room for that unless it's over the toilet.  Or I've thought of removing the doors of the existing medicine cabinet and using with open shelves.

Love this bedroom vanity or desk turned into sink vanity

Love this small table and the use of the white enamel pan.  I have
white enamel I want to display in the bath.

There's that apothecary jar filled with white soap.  I must really like this pic.  I found that I pinned it 5 times on my Bathroom Decorating board.

These tiered baskets are nice for a lot of uses.

I like the idea of a tray of some sort, maybe galvanized for placing bottles and containers that get used often.  Easy access and cute too.

More white enamel and I love the simple tier curtains leaving the top part of the window open.

The Vanity

I love the idea of taking an old dresser and making a sink vanity out of it.  I also love the idea of using the vanity we currently have, painting it white and distressing it, taking off the two doors under the sink and replacing with a curtain.  I love that look.  Possibly a stenciled grainsack painters drop cloth or some striped ticking fabric.

I also know that I want some exposed storage for towels (mostly white towels) and I absolutely love the egg basket for holding toilet tissue.  Also love the jars for holding bars of white soap, white qtips and white cotton balls.  The very pale duck egg blue looks great on this cabinet.

Thoughts a many........

Just starting to put some thoughts together about how I'd like our cottage bathroom to look. There's no claw foot tub or grande ceramic tile showers, but I think we can make it look great.

Currently what we have to deal with is:
An oak colored vanity - If we keep this, I will chalkpaint and wax.  A very pale neutral color and perhaps even white.  New knobs and drawer pulls of course to coordinate with the faucet.

The vanity sink top should be replaced as it's stained.

The faucets are ugly brass EWWWWW!  I definitely would replace the faucet.  Need inspiration pics.

New commode - need inspiration pics

New shower/tub - I would love to have a walk in shower and get rid of the tub.  We'll see. Currently there is a very ugly brass shower door.  This will definitely go.  I'd much rather have a pretty shower curtain.

The cabinet over the toilet is currently oak colored and would be painted if kept.  I might possibly remove the doors and use as open shelves for pretties.

New floor covering -

The walls are already bead board 3/4 of the way up with sheet rock at the top.  I probably will paint the beadboard bright white and maybe even the sheet rock.  If not, the sheet rock will be a very pale color.  Maybe gray.

I love fluffy white rugs but my hubby tends to take dirty feet in the bathroom so he'll need training or else we'll have to go with a colored rug.
